Stress Free Holiday Activities

In my last post, I talked about stress-free activities to do around Toronto. But with the holiday coming up, I thought that it would nice to do a new edition filled with holiday activities you can do to de-stress between those overtime shifts or last minute holiday shopping.

1. Toronto Christmas Market

I know I talked about this on the last post but this is on of my favorite holiday activities in Toronto. It really puts you in a festive mood with scents of bonfire, hot chocolate and mulled wine in the air. There are Christmas carols playing everywhere and little booths set up for you to shop around. I would highly recommend going on a weeknight because not only is it free, but there tends to be way less people than on weekends.

2. Baking Cookies

An activity that I always love to do when I'm stressed out is to bake a batch of cookies. The baked cookies fill the whole house of amazing smell and a warm atmosphere. While scrolling through Facebook, I encountered this recipe "Brown Sugar Pecan Bears" and this is on the top of my to-do Holiday baking list. Such a cute cookie to make for holiday parties or for yourself to gorge on.

3. Christmas Movie Night with Friends

Another great holiday activity is to invite your friends or family over and watch holiday movies while sipping on hot chocolate or apple cider. Some classic Christmas movies I personally recommend: Grinch, Elf, Polar Express, Charlie Brown Christmas or A Christmas Carol. It's the perfect way to relax while enjoying the companionship of your friends and family.

4. Walk around the City

I find that a walk around the city is a great way to calm the mind. Toronto is notorious for decorating the city with bright lights and festive decorations... which will definitely put you into a happy and festive mood. Some great places to walk around and take in the festive lights: the Casa Loma, Eaton Centre (they have the tallest Christmas Tree in North America this year), or the Harbourfront.
